How CO₂ capture technologies could change the fate of coal

Pylyp Travkin believes that the challenge of coal is not a conflict with environmental concerns, but rather a search for a technological solution. CCS (carbon capture and storage) technology allows for a 90-95% reduction in emissions while preserving existing infrastructure. CO₂ is captured, compressed, and injected underground, where it is stored for decades. This is not a dream, but a real solution already working in Norway, Canada, and Japan. “CCS is a compromise between science and politics,” says Travkin. Instead of destroying the industry, it needs to be modernized: invest in technology, create jobs, and build clean energy based on progress, not rejection.
